About Us

Prime Stage, located in Pittsburgh PA, is the region’s nationally recognized theatre that “brings literature to life.”

We are committed to creating entertaining, educational, and enriching experiences for middle and high school students, their families and teachers that bridge the gap between children’s theater and adult theatre.

With education being a cornerstone of our mission and vision, Prime Stage offers several unique programs for educators and home school families that encourage adolescents to attend the theatre, participate in the creative process, and read the literature. We invite you to visit our Education pages, the Technical Theatre Mentor Page, the Teen Advisory Board, and the Support pages of this website.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, you are welcome to contact our staff.

Thank you for visiting Lifelines, the Prime Stage Theatre social network on Ning.

A Very "Inspiring Teacher" Indeed!

On Friday, February 26, 2010, Prime Stage Theatre was honored to present the First Annual “Inspiring Teachers Inspiring Readers” award to Dr. Deborah Van Maele of Hampton Middle School at a ceremony and award reception held at the New Hazlett Theatre. Teacher Preview

Thank you to the teachers who attended last night's dress rehearsal. We hope you enjoyed yourself and will return to see the show in its final form. You will also be able to share with your students how the show grew from the dress rehearsal to the performance with some changes that were made after the rehearsal.

Jenna Lanz commented on Jenna Lanz's blog post 'Who is Juliet?'
All very true. I would like to believe that Juliet has one of the biggest transformations of all the characters in the show. Along with her wisdom in the balcony scene, you can also sense her youth. When she is fretting about what Romeo should swear…

James commented on Jenna Lanz's blog post 'Who is Juliet?'
"Thirteen" is tough to beat since it implies so much, though I would say "precocious" would also work. Juliet often speaks with more wisdom than Romeo in matters of love. I am particularly reminded of her cautioning Romeo with…

Your dog is super cute. I'm guessing you're the person whose hobby was to play with your dog!
